Professional of the Year
Recognize experienced workforce development professionals who have made the highest meritorious contribution to the designing and implementing professional development initiatives that enhance the knowledge, skills and competencies of workforce development professionals. Nominees may be involved in curriculum development, professional credentialing, staff training, staff evaluation, incentives, needs assessment and/or related areas

Workforce Keystone Recognize experienced workforce development staff not on the ‘front line’
working directly with participants, but providing the highest level
of meritorious service behind the scenes. Nominees may be involved in
providing administrative support, financial expertise, information
technology services and/or other workforce development support related
areas. Many workforce staff provide these much needed services each and
every day. Without their dedication, much of what is done couldn’t
happen in such a smooth and efficient manner.

Collaboration
Recognize an outstanding professional from a partner agency in the workforce system. Nominees should be employed by any partner involved in the workforce system, and should indicate how this individual promotes partnership, innovation and collaboration within the workforce community
.

|
MAWD's Workforce Rookie of the Year
This award is to recognize someone who has “hit the ground running” and made extraordinary contributions to local or state workforce in his/her career. The Newcomer of the Year award encourages, recognizes, and celebrates one who has met the challenges of providing workforce development early in their career and who demonstrates the ability and commitment to positively impact the states workforce.
Criteria:
Currently exhibits outstanding performance at current job, demonstrates effective collegial interactions when facing new or difficult tasks, and brings innovative and useful ideas to task at hand and shares them with others.
Eligibility:
- Must be a member in good standing of Missouri Association for Workforce Development
- Must have not have worked more than two years in their current position

Local Excellence Award in Partnership
|
|
|
|
The Local Excellence Award in Partnership (LEAP). This award is designed to promote WIOA partnering activities throughout Missouri.
Criteria:
- How funds will be used to promote an existing or new initiative around workforce partnering.
- Involvement by both WIOA core and required partners in this initiative
- Award dollars must be utilized during the grant year awarded.
- One grantee will be chosen among the nominees. Award recipient will be announced at the MAWD conference.
- Award amount is $2,500.00

MAWD Scholarship
|
The MAWD Scholarship Award is for MAWD members, their spouse or children.
- Applicants must be a MAWD member in good standing for 2 consecutive years.
- The application must include a 1 page or less justification for the course of study.
- The student must have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a 3.25 GPA on a 5.0 scale, or for a first time student, a letter of acceptance.
- The education institution must be approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- A transcript must be submitted from high school or the educational institution the student is currently attending.
Scholarship recipients will be recognized during the 2023 Annual Conference, April 27, 2023. Applications must be submitted to Dana Keller at dana@gamminc.org no later than March 1st, 2023.
