From the Desk of the President...

Hello MAWD Members,

As we wrap up another incredible year, I want to take a moment to express gratitude for the dedication and hard work each agency has put into supporting participants across the state and throughout our organizations.

Like every year, 2024 brought its share of challenges, but together, we've shown resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to our missions. Each organization has faced its own hurdles, but we've met them with courage, creativity, and celebrated victories—both big and small.

It is inspiring to witness so many people come together to build the strong sense of community and collaboration that defines MAWD. The progress we make in the lives of participants is what keeps us moving forward and makes this journey so meaningful. As we look ahead to the New Year, let’s carry that momentum into 2025, embracing new opportunities and challenges with renewed energy and determination.

Stay engaged, stay involved, and let's keep making a lasting difference across our state.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a fantastic New Year!

Samantha Terry

MAWD President

DESE AEL updates partners annually on its Strategic Plan to expand Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs. In FY24, IET enrollment increased by 53%, and all classes were focused on in-demand career pathways (healthcare, manufacturing, education, and IT). 100% of IET students received Measurable Skill Gains (MSG). IET programs can serve as a bridge to post-secondary education and training, remediation, pre-apprenticeship, or customized employer training. For information on partnering with AEL to start an IET program, contact the local service provider: https://dese.mo.gov/college-career-readiness/adult-learning-rehabilitation-services/adult-education-literacy/missouri-ael-programs
